Position summary
Are you an experienced science professional looking for the next challenge in your career? Have experience working with GMP schemes and utilising high-level leadership skills? Keen to make a meaningful impact safeguarding the quality of veterinary products in the Australian marketplace?
Working with a high level of autonomy under limited direction and collaboratively with APVMA stakeholders, the Director is required to make sound decisions based on professional judgement and evaluation of risk in the context of a complex regulatory environment. They will also manage relationships with external service providers, internal and external clients, and stakeholders, including commonwealth, state and industry bodies, and non-government organisations.
As Director of Manufacture Quality Licensing and Assurance, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the team to apply scientific process, technical knowledge, and experience in the evaluation of GMP licences and applications within a regulatory framework. Process and administer adverse events and voluntary recalls reports; and monitor HGP supply as per legislative requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate / Selection criteria
To be considered for these roles you will need the following essential criteria:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in a scientific discipline, with relevant work experience.
Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to plan strategically in a dynamic and client focused environment, and deal with periods of peak demand and legislated timeframes.
Knowledge of the regulatory and legislative environment of a government Authority and a comprehensive understanding of, and practical experience in, auditing processes, particularly as they relate to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of technical and administrative staff with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to provide pragmatic advice on complex scientific matters related to MQL with the ability to provide complex briefings to senior executives and to represent the organisation in domestic and international forums.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, liaison, and negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex interactions with diverse stakeholder groups.
Desirable
Knowledge of the regulatory and legislative environment of the APVMA and familiarity with international best practices related to the regulatory frameworks for veterinary medicines.
