The Starbucks Global Channel Development R&D team collaborates with some of the world’s leading food and beverage companies to develop innovation on Starbucks products delivered in channels outside of our retail cafes, including at home coffee, ready-to-drink coffee, and foodservice coffee experiences.
This job contributes to Starbucks success by providing support for overall the Channel R&D business operations. We are seeking a creative, initiative-taking, and enthusiastic director with a track record of success in CPG / Retail beverage innovation and managing world class business partnerships on a global scale. This job requires a combination of innovative and strategic thinking, influencing, and facilitation to deliver key business results.
As a director of Global Channel Development R&D, you will…
- Collaborate with Brand, External Partnerships., Global Coffee, Sourcing, and Regulatory to deliver business goals
- Help reinforce the vision, purpose, and strategy of the organization both through storytelling, accountability, and transparency
- Lead the development of new products, including collaborating and actively problem solving with cross-functional project teams to ensure timely and executional excellence of innovation
- Ensure Starbucks brand guardrails and the voice of the customer are incorporated into the development process
- Promote a culture of high performance and innovation curiosity that values learning and a commitment to quality and achieving excellence
- Represent R&D function: provide insights, solutions, and critical thinking to advance business priorities
- Structure the team to fulfill the business strategy and goals, as well as the growth and development of partners
- Set goals and priorities for the team and actively provide partners with coaching, feedback and development opportunities and modeling leadership behavior for the larger team
- Lead team to stay on top of competitive products and emerging trends of new ingredients, beverages, categories, and technologies
