Description:
Position Overview
A member of the Business Development team to drive business development processes, create new business opportunity through driving new propositions, working closely with internal stakeholders (Product Development, Pricing, Underwriting, GFS and CDS) and contribute to achieving RGA’s financial target.
Responsibilities
- Drive and prioritise reinsurance quotations process, including but not limited to execution of daily quote activities (reinsurance term sheet / proposal preparation, treaties etc) and proactively manage client requests.
- Liaise internally across teams (mainly pricing and underwriting team) to ensure the company’s deliverables are meeting client’s needs and satisfying RGA’s service standards.
- Establish strong working relationships with clients of RGA
- Negotiate on behalf of RGA and to manage multiple projects as well as reinsurance quotations
- Develop and create marketing and presentation materials and manage RGA intellectual properties (e.g. client relationship update, library etc.).
- Perform research and analyze latest marketing/product trends in the Southeast Asian markets and present results internally and externally.
- Lead or assist in project work including establishing internal reports, analyzing profitability of existing treaty lines and business case proposals
- Provide guidance to other team members and assist the Head of Business Development to build and manage a strong Business Development team for both Life and Health businesses
- Support Head of Business Development on other business matters and tasks as and when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or related disciplines
- FSA qualification or equivalent; high calibre candidates who are making good progress to being fully qualified will also be considered
- 5-10 years’ experience in a life insurance (including but not limited to Product Development, Product Pricing etc.), insurance consulting or reinsurance company, experience in product development or pricing will be an advantage
- Highly organized, solutions focused and delivery-orientated with the ability to work with multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others
- Strong client services ability with excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal). Proficiency in another Southeast Asian language is preferred
- Strong project management skills and ability to partner with internal & external stakeholders in a collaborative manner
- Strong critical and innovative thinking, with the ability to develop business insights
