Description:

DIRECTOR, BUSINESS INTEGRATION SERVICES - UTILITY SECTOR CONSULTANT

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Business Integration Services to join our dynamic utility consulting firm based in California. This role will be responsible for client engagement and the delivery of services to US Utilities. Business Integration Services include Program & Project Management, Business Systems and Process evaluation and improvement, Business Technology Strategy and Implementation, and Data Quality Management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business development, strategic planning, and project management within the utility sector.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic planning, and project management within the utility industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing business integration projects and initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team building, coaching, and developing talent.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures within the utility sector, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing business strategies and solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of utility business processes, regulations, and industry-specific challenges.
  • Familiarity with the dynamics of the utility sector, including energy distribution, enterprise resource management, customer relationship management, and associated technologies.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in contributing to digital transformation initiatives and driving innovation.
  • Experience in developing and implementing change management strategies for process improvements and technology implementations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications or advanced degrees in Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or related fields.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or demonstrated project management experience.
  • A track record of contributing to and leading innovative initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
  • Experience in selecting and implementing Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Oracle) to enhance asset and work management end to end processes.
  • Understanding of where AI/ML and Generative AI concepts can be applied in the Utility industry.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Proven experience as a business solution architect or consultant specializing in the utility or energy sector.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations or associations related to business architecture or the utility sector.
  • Experience in public speaking, presenting at conferences, or contributing to thought leadership in the utility sector

Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 DOE
