PURPOSE OF POSITION

Guided by the mission, values and goals of Catholic Charities’ ministry, the Director of Center Based Operations coordinates, plans, implements and supervises multiple programs and staff to ensure goals and outcomes for the Catholic Charities ECE Program Center Based Operations. The position will oversee the supervision and operation of the Centers and Center Directors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides leadership to Center-Based staff in administering the Agency’s mission, ministries and policies, consistent with Catholic Charities’ mission and values and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Works collaboratively with all levels of management in developing strategic plans and priorities
  • Applies appropriate techniques and standards in program development and service delivery case management in early childhood education to achieve goals
  • Uses program statistics to monitor and evaluate services and outcomes. Recommends, develops and implements improvements as appropriate.
  • Assists in the development and administration of the area budget within established guidelines.
  • Ensures that programs and services comply with licensing, accreditation, state and federal standards and other appropriate regulatory or professional requirements.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with community-based organizations, parishes and corporations to extend the reach of services and community support.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Agency’s values and policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible, along with Center Directors, for the appearance, condition, maintenance and safety of all center-based program locations.
  • Collaborates effectively with other public and private agencies to promote the quality and capacity building of childcare services.
  • Provides back-up to staff in the direct services to clients.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises Center Directors in Early Childhood Education Program
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision, program management and budget management for early childhood education programs.
  • Ability to work effectively within the framework of Catholic Charities Leadership Model.
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Must comply with all Colorado State Licensing regulations and Federal Performance Standards for childcare staff.
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff through application of Agency values
  • Intermediate knowledge of computers to input information, maintain client and program data, create and generate reports, and create communications.
  • Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from an accredited university in the Early Childhood, Child Development or related field; and four to six years related program management and supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree not required, but preferred.
