The job
Managing a small team of PR and communications professionals working on a range of client accounts.
Leading and having accountability for client accounts of your own.
Working with the firm’s Managing Partner and other colleagues to identify and pursue business development opportunities.
Presenting confidently to existing and prospective clients, on new business proposals and in support of existing work.
Working closely with and in support of Australia-based colleagues at GRACosway on various client and business development projects.
Contributing to an engaged and vibrant team culture in line with GRCPN’s team values.
Qualifications and experience
Essential
10+ years in corporate communications and/or consulting, where you have demonstrated a mixture of leadership, creativity and commercial nous.
A proven ability to apply strategic thinking to business problems and opportunities.
People leadership and development experience, including as a line manager with responsibility for annual performance reviews.
Confidence in interacting with, advising and influencing senior business leaders, including CEOs and board members.
A high awareness of and interest in NZ current affairs, including politics.
The ability to write fluently and persuasively for multiple audiences and across different outputs e.g. news releases, annual reports, and op-eds, internal reports/memos/updates to senior management and boards.
Established relationships with New Zealand news media, including business and financial journalists.
The ability to work on and direct teams across multiple projects simultaneously.
A willingness to ‘muck in’ on essential administrative tasks.
Desirable
Familiarity with financial and investor communications inside a corporate and/or consulting environment. This could include leading and/or supporting financial reporting for private sector companies.
Some experience in working in Wellington within or close to central government e.g. Parliamentary offices, government agencies, NGOs.
Hours and location
This position is based in our offices at 100 College Hill, Ponsonby, where we work alongside other Clemenger Group agencies including Colenso, Perceptive, Proximity, Raydar and Brandworld.
Occasional travel to Wellington and throughout New Zealand may be required to support colleagues and clients.
