About this role
Introduction to Multi Asset Strategies & Solutions Group
BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock’s portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver detailed investment outcomes and innovative alpha insights. Our team of 350+ multi-asset investment professionals construct active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels. Currently, MASS handles over $900 billion in assets and has a strong presence in the Americas, EMEA and throughout Asia Pacific.
Role Description & Responsibilities
MASS is looking for a Client CIO/Key Investor based in Singapore to develop, structure and run new and existing custom portfolios for our whole portfolio solutions business predominately in the Southeast Asia region. The position will work across the client spectrum, but with a particular focus on Official Institutions, Family Offices, insurance and DC pension schemes. Success in this role will be driven by assembling the best of BlackRock’s investment insights to consistently deliver against client objectives in the most effective risk-controlled manner.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for Investment performance: Deliver as the responsible portfolio manager against client investment objectives by using investment insights from our global research teams, building and managing robust multi-asset portfolios applying our state-of-the portfolio construction, asset allocation and risk management tools.
  • Work directly with clients: Lead client calls and communications as subject matter expert on mandate details, communicate implementation plans to clients and internal teams through written and verbal communications; be responsible for resolving client requests regarding operational and data aspects by using internal operational experts.
  • Client engagement: Accountable for qualifying client query, design and management of solutions for the segment. Accountable for delivery against client objectives (investment and overall customer experience) for the segment. Significant role in client acquisition, and ongoing client responsibility.
  • Working with the strategy team to deliver commercial targets: Contribute to the growth of the platform. Partnering with commercial leads on mandate design and price.
  • One BlackRock: Actively demonstrate our ‘One BlackRock’ principles working as an effective partner across our APAC and Global MASS Solutions team, Investment teams, as well as the Client Business and local support teams.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of capital markets, areas of portfolio construction and asset allocation
  • Solid investment experience in working in multi-asset strategies
  • Deep client segment knowledge, acquired by servicing a particular client segment or working in a relevant client segment institution preferably in Singapore and the Asia region
  • A proven track record in the design, advising and management of multi-asset solutions for clients in the SE Asia region is desirable
  • Experience in roles that combine investment and commercial dimensions
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a “networked” structure that uses multiple ‘Centers of Excellence’ and experts
  • Detailed knowledge of Singapore and the Asia region, and its clients
  • Proven record of academic achievement, work ethic, and leadership
  • A genuine inclination for quantitative analysis and the ability to work through sophisticated problems and challenges to provide innovative insights
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain sophisticated topics to non-technical individuals in writing as well as verbally
  • Curious self-starter passionate about execution with results-oriented work ethic and professional disposition
  • Strong teammate who takes a collaborative and cooperative approach to tasks, but can work independently if necessary
  • Organized and diligent, able to prioritize and multi-task quickly efficiently, adapting to new situations in a fast-paced environment
  • Being a strong fiduciary by ensuring the highest level of integrity and professionalism in every aspect of performance
