Monash Health are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic medical educator who shares our passion in shaping and delivering PGY1 (Intern) and PGY2/3 (HMO) learning. This is a Maternity Leave replacement role planned for 12 months. This role is leading the implementation of the new National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to make a difference to our most junior doctors starting their medical career at Monash Health.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Monash Doctors Education (MDE), you will lead the project team responsible for the implementation of the New National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training. The Australian Medical Council has developed a new educational framework that will transform the way that PGY1 and PGY2 doctors learn, receive supervision, feedback and assessment during their two years as a doctor. The new framework will deliver greater direct observation of clinical work and individualised learning, incorporate new assessment methods including Entrustable Professional Activities with the ultimate aim of enhancing the care provided to our multicultural community. Additionally, the new framework describes enhanced competency in culturally safe care.
Working closely with the Director, the Education Manager and the MDE team, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the National Framework project implementation team consisting of a Medical Education fellow ( registrar) and an education project officer (senior nursing or allied health clinician with education experience)
- Use an organisational change management approach to deliver organisation-wide change in prevocational medical training
- Develop a detailed project plan with reporting timelines and milestones
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders and collaborate with clinical units to implement, evaluate, refine and embed education processes in line with best practice and the requirements of the Framework
- Design and deliver education and supporting resources for senior medical staff, junior medical staff and relevant members of the multidisciplinary team to enable successful and consistent implementation of the Framework across Monash Health
- Use high level analytical skills to harness educational data to drive improvements in the learning, teaching and assessment of PGY1 and PGY2 doctors
- Design and deliver innovative and high quality MDE education and resources using various methodologies in collaboration with the MDE team and JMO Education Committee
- Participate in medical education scholarship and research and evaluation.
