    About the organization
    Parks Victoria is a statutory authority of the Victorian Government acting in accordance with the Parks Victoria Act 2018. Parks Victoria recognises the value and importance of working in partnership with Traditional Owners to manage parks and reserves in a culturally sensitive and ecologically appropriate way.
    Parks Victoria is responsible for managing a diverse estate of more than 4 million hectares including 3,000 land and marine parks and reserves making up 18 per cent of Victoria’s landmass, 75 per cent of Victoria’s wetlands and 70 per cent of Victoria’s coastline. Victoria’s parks are home to more than 4,300 native plants and around 1,000 native animal species. Parks Victoria is the local port manager for Port Phillip, Western Port and Port Campbell. The three local ports combined receive approximately 30 million visits a year, and include 263,000 hectares of waterway, marine protected areas, channels, piers and jetties, moorings and aids to navigation.

    About the role
    Reporting to the Executive Director, Visitor Experience, the Director of Communications, Digital and Engagement, will lead the strategic direction of corporate communications, stakeholder and community engagement, brand management, and media relations within Parks Victoria’s Visitor Experience Division. This role is part of the Exec Plus leadership group and requires providing high-level advice on all matters related to public information and engagement. You are also responsible for leading the digital transformation and customer technologies to enhance visitor experience.
    The Director Communications, Digital and Engagement at Parks Victoria holds pivotal responsibilities, including leading corporate communications strategies across all internal and external channels. This role will manage, engage and maintain stakeholder relationships with government departments, agencies, and general public, ultimately benefiting both Parks Victoria and the Victorian community. Moreover, the Director will drive the enhancement of visitor experiences through spearheading the digital transformation and excellence in customer technologies.

    An integral member of Parks Victoria’s senior leadership team, the Director, Communications, Digital and Engagement will be an innovative leader who embraces agile ways of working. The successful candidate will have experience working within or in a government-adjacent environment demonstrating the ability to successfully manage the interests of multiple stakeholders. The role requires an individual with sophisticated leadership skills who is able to lead a high performing and interdisciplinary team across multiple dispersed locations. The successful candidate will have successfully led organisation-wide transformation programs across digital media and communications. At an interpersonal level, you have great communication skills, proven leadership and management skills that motivate your team to drive success.
