Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, the candidate will lead a team in design, development and implementation of all total rewards programmes.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL NEED TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in any discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of compensation and benefit programs with a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the Compensation & Benefits function
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in the development and execution of strategic rewards initiatives
  • Ability to effectively lead people and drive results through others. In-depth knowledge and experience in effectively leading the wide-spectrum of compensation and benefits programs and practices
  • Excellent communications and influencing skills to introduce new ideas and approaches towards rewards.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the University’s Total Reward strategy and policies across all businesses and functions, assuring internal equity and external competitiveness
  • Develop compensation strategy, direct the design, implementation of all compensation plans/ policies for all schemes (Faculty, Research and MSO
  • Work in partnership with external vendors and consultants in both compensation and benefit arenas to ensure the company is positioned competitively amongst the higher education market
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction in the University’s compensation and benefits programmes and processes including annual merit increments, annual salary reviews, job evaluation exercises and other incentive programs to ensure alignment with University’s rewards, philosophy, talent strategy and workforce needs
  • Review the effectiveness of existing compensation and benefits policies and guidelines to ensure that these are competitive and where applicable, identify opportunities that would enable the University to improve our compensation and benefit programs to attract and retain talents.
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy for compensation and benefit programs and identify platforms to facilitate proactive employee engagement.
  • Act as functional leader for Total Rewards function and provide advice to business leaders and HR Centres of Excellence regarding job evaluation and interpretation of compensation and benefits policies.
