The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone’s experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
The Cyber Security, Data and Digital Resilience Division is responsible for leading and overseeing government’s digital resilience, and preparedness and response to cyber security risks, including:
- Leading the Victorian Government’s Cyber Defence Centre
- Working with departments and agencies to continue to build the Victorian Government’s cyber security resilience capability
- Working with departments and agencies to improve the protection of data assets across the Victorian Public Sector
- Shaping whole of government governance arrangements, developing best practice, and providing assurance about the management of cyber security and data protection risks
- Improving the resilience of Victoria’s telecommunications infrastructure to support digital resilience and inclusion
- Leading the Victorian Government’s data strategy to improve the quality, security and efficacy of programs and services to the Victorian community.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the development and delivery of key cyber security services for use across government.
- Produce quality reporting and briefs in a timely manner as required by Project/Program Office, Project Control Board, DGS Executive or Ministers Office, while ensuring communications are suitable for both a technical and non-technical audience as required.
- Establish and manage effective working relationships with relevant senior executive stakeholders, service providers and lead and manage service delivery improvements and service level agreements.
- Manage and provide leadership and direction to a multi- disciplinary team of professional technical and administrative staff to ensure high quality service delivery.
- Conduct other duties as directed to assist the Division that are consistent with a position of this grade and skills requirement.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Victorian Government CISO and Executive Director, Data and Digital resilience, the Delivery Director works closely with senior leaders and program owners across government, to delivery a program of projects and initiatives to support the WoVG Cyber Security Data and Digital Resilience efforts.
In this critical position, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of cyber-related services and initiatives within the state government The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cybersecurity, project management, and government operations.
The role oversees a team of project professionals and is integral for the delivery of key programs within Victoria’s Cyber Strategy 2021.
You will be an experienced cyber security leader, with a track record of delivery in a highly complex and changing environment. You will have superior technical, stakeholder management skills and sustain a high level of drive and commitment, have integrity and resilience and will build trust through consistent actions, values and communication.
