Location: Ideally this position can be filled as Hybrid in Ohio but we will consider remote for the right candidate.
We are looking for dynamic leader with strong technical experience leading teams in a matrix organization. This director will lead the Enterprise Digital Delivery team responsible for enterprise-wide capabilities, technical consulting and nationwide.com product management. This role also works closely with the broader Digital Delivery team, Technology and Marketing Operations partners to understand digital delivery drivers via data, MarTech and digital trends to craft and execute effective delivery strategies.
The Enterprise Digital Marketing Director will report to the AVP of Digital Delivery who sits within the broader Content & Delivery Marketing organization.

You’ll own the development and execution of digital strategies and plans that support long term sustainable growth. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures team’s digital work. Digital work includes web, internet, email, social media and mobile. Work is both business and consumer focused.
  • Identifies problems and innovates digital solutions to reach assigned customer group through digital media options. Develops, implements and directs local and national campaign strategies including marketing communication plans (e.g., advertising, promotions, direct mail, media, sponsorship, online display, search, email, mobile, social etc.) and creative.
  • Directs internal and external creative resources, agency relationships and tactical specialists in the timely development, execution and integration of campaigns.
  • Leads an insights and analytics focused team for a wide array of digital projects. Partners with analytics to drive data and information to forecast usage, competitor and customer behavior, understand target audiences, and successfully gets results.
  • Establishes a digital culture where an open exchange of ideas is valued. Reviews current technology and recommends updates and improvements that will benefit the department. Stays current on digital industry trends, sees the big picture, explores possibilities and provides impactful resources to inspire new ideas.
  • Maintains knowledge of business unit’s vision and strategic priorities. Examines their challenges, analyzes the market, their key target segments and their competitors; turns these into significant resources for the digital team.
  • Leads, directs and coaches others regarding the use of digital applications of branding within area of responsibility. Ensures consistency of the digital brand experience for all customers.
  • Partners with other marketing teams to develop and plan campaign strategies and initiatives to meet business objectives. Handles client demand, prioritization the workflow to ensure team is focused on the highest priority work.
  • Provides management, salary planning, training and development, process and organizational planning and recruits and retains staff.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Report to Associate Vice President/Vice President level or higher. Manages a team of four or more Digital Marketing professionals and may have matrix reporting relationships and virtual teams.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree in marketing, communication, advertising or related field preferred; master’s degree is desirable.
Experience: Typically, 10 or more years of related experience in marketing, email, web development and strategy, advertising, media or brand management. Validated experience and success in leadership and helping a team.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Combined in-depth knowledge of marketing principles and methodologies, including understanding of marketing through digital sources. Prefer knowledge of assigned business. Advanced understanding of integrated marketing principles, including storytelling and content strategy. Innate understanding of how to get work done in a corporate environment (strong relationships, mutual accountability, executive presence). Exceptional visual, verbal and written communication skills. Leadership skills, including knowing how to coach and guide a digital team to success.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.
The national salary range for Director, Digital Marketing : $107,000.00-$207,000.00
The expected starting salary range for Director, Digital Marketing : $116,000.00 - $176,000.00
