OLG is now expanding our horizons even further, with a new strategic direction, to become a world class gaming entertainment leader with a globally admired digital platform.
We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Director Digital UX Design to develop and lead the overall digital UX strategy ensuring that digital products deliver exceptional customer experiences in alignment with divisional priorities and enterprise customer strategies and objectives. The Director Digital UX will oversee a team of Product Designers and collaborate cross-functionally to define, implement and continuously improve the digital UX experience.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Sr Director Digital Communications & CX, you will be empowered to:

Strategy and Design Practice

  • Define and execute OLG’s Digital UX strategy, aligning it with the Enterprise CX strategy and Digital divisional business objectives.
  • Own and evolve digital Design System and UX standards through research and integration of emerging trends and best practice.
  • Establish a holistic view across all digital labs; identify opportunities to enhance digital UX across all digital platforms and touchpoints and contribute to business cases that establish a vision for best-in-class digital experiences.
  • Understand the vision and translate strategy to provide leadership to a team of Product Designers; establish work plan and drive project outcomes through strong collaboration.
  • Understand the market, business and customer requirements and futuristic trends to inform various aspects of design, inclusive of user experience, content, product design etc.
  • Identify opportunities to improve design processes and engagement with various stakeholders across digital labs and departments.

Product Design Delivery

  • Engage with digital product and functional teams to develop a clear understanding of the problem statement / business requirements, user requirements to guide the design process.
  • Lead the effort to validate Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) through Research, Pilot, and Launch to validate original hypothesis.
  • As required, act as an escalation point for lab teams in order to bridge conflicting viewpoints and facilitate alignment, wherever possible, on a design solution. Provide direction / final decisions where a proposed solution deviates from established standards in order maintain consistency of practice.
  • Oversee Product Designer outputs across identified projects, ensuring each project deliverable is of the highest quality and achieves desired objectives.
  • Collaborate with digital labs to ensure designed products and touchpoints deliver on intent, address challenges and identify future opportunities.

Governance and Standards

  • Ensure that lab approaches/decisions are aligned with documented UX/UI principles/standards/design system in order to ensure consistency in user experience across all digital products and channels.
  • Evolve design methods, practices and guidelines which enable insights-driven consideration of design decisions and ensure proposed solutions are desirable, feasible and viable.
  • Inform performance KPIs of launched products and services to guide performance optimizations and design iterations.

Leadership

  • Build, develop and lead a strong design team with an emphasis on collaborative thinking and attention to detail.
  • Provide leadership and grow design capabilities within the agile labs, taking a holistic view of the customer experience in order to ensure cohesiveness across the spectrum of products, services and user journeys, and to enable agile labs to deliver against lab mandates.
  • Manage relationships with lab teams, stakeholders, and third-party vendors and provide direction as it relates to the content and product design of digital products.
