JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the AVP, Enterprise Financial Planning and Analysis, this role is accountable for leading a team of financial professionals responsible for enterprise financial planning and analysis. This role is responsible for:
- Leading the annual enterprise business plan process
- Leading the strategic planning process in partnership with Corporate Strategy
- Financial reporting, advisory and analysis for Incentive Compensation
This role affords the successful candidate the opportunity to learn about Sun Life’s businesses from a macro/holistic perspective, develop analysis to provide key insights to the Executive Office, and build relationships across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
- Lead enterprise business plan process and all financial components of enterprise strategic planning process, partnering with business group and functional leads throughout the company including: Corporate Finance, Tax, Capital/Treasury and Investor Relations; Corporate Strategy, Actuarial, Risk, Investments and Expenses; Business groups including Canada, US, MFS, Asia and SLC.
- Develop and implement overall approach in partnership with AVP, including timetable, assumption methodology, Plan template, and financial templates, Business Group and Corporate function submission review, analysis and status updates;
- Drafting the Report of the Chief Financial Officer to the Board of Directors for the Business Plan and Enterprise Strategic Plan in partnership with AVP, VP, SVP and CFO. Developing key insights and messages.
- Partnering with Enterprise Compensation to develop board and executive reporting on incentive compensation. Advisory and analysis support on incentive design.
- Preparing summary, driver-based analysis to support the Executive Office in understanding business results and performance versus business plan.
- Deep dive analysis to develop insights, and support management decision making.
- Drive insights through measurement and benchmarking of the various businesses (and/or product lines) in relation to global Insurance and Banking peers and equity analyst expectations.
- Provide financial analysis and research on how to drive value creation across the enterprise.
- Lead and develop a team of financial professionals.
