Description:

Overview:
Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Director to join our Finance team in San Jose, CA. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.
As Director of Finance, the candidate will be reporting to the VP, Finance and is a Full Time position. The Director of Finance will provide financial support for our Silicon IP business and Patent Licensing business. This FP&A role includes value-added analysis, all financial planning activities, such as budgeting and forecasting, in addition to strategic support.
Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for the majority of our office-based roles. We encourage employees to spend an average of at least three days per week working onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the GMs and other executive staff to drive business results to targets.
  • Lead the BU short- and long-term financial planning, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting processes to ensure accurate and timely projections for senior leadership and operational management. This includes the bridge analysis of current financial performance against plan and forecast information at various operating levels.
  • P&L responsibility includes tracking and reporting on all relevant financial metrics. Identify trends and understand variances between forecast and actual results and take corrective action where needed.
  • Manage the weekly revenue forecast. Work with cross-functional business partners to facilitate the review and execution of revenue related deals.
  • Provide ongoing guidance to the business on revenue recognition issues, in conjunction with corporate accounting. Be a strategic partner with subject matter expertise in revenue who works diligently to find solutions to critical issues.
  • Play a supporting role in M&A activity, including the diligence process, participating with integration, tracking financial milestones, and reporting.
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Drive and enhance NPI (new product introduction) process, metrics, and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA or CPA qualification preferred.
  • 10 or more years’ experience of relevant and progressive finance experience in BU controlling
  • Advanced knowledge of ASC 606 Revenue with contracts from customers
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional teams and provide analytical / decision support.
  • Maintains a strong moral compass and understands the importance of ethics in business.
  • Detail oriented, highly analytical and capable of managing the intricacies of a changing, multi-faceted business.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Dynamic ability to work effectively with a wide array of personalities and operating styles.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Hyperion preferred.
