THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. degree in Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 15 years of experience in software development with deep experience on financial systems and at least 5 years of experience managing multiple software development teams.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles and process along with the ability to apply this knowledge to execute projects and optimize strategies and lead successful transformations.
  • Demonstrate understanding of information technology practices and Program/Project management within the Financial Industry.
  • Strong skills in critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in an IFRS 17 program would be preferable.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • Preference will be for candidates with extensive financial systems & insurance experience.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

We’re looking for a Director - Financial Systems Transformation, Software Engineering.

  • Evolve the existing landscape leveraging forward thinking methodologies & innovative ways.

  • Mentor our emerging leaders & managers.
  • Lead the development of Financial Systems’ long-term plan and vision in collaboration with the enterprise architecture team.
  • Find Innovative Solutions meeting Business Needs. Bring in Enterprise thinking.
  • Drive Simplification & Reduce Technical Debt.
  • Lead activities related to priority setting and resource planning, ensuring that project work, targets and objectives align with the long-term vision.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in leading the development, testing, and implementation activities required for various projects.
  • Negotiate and collaborate with external partners and stakeholders (consulting firms and solution/service providers).
  • Ability to manage a large portfolio of projects & programs with diverse technology.
  • Build high performing teams and ensure effective employee engagement.
  • Build strong inter-personal relationships with peers and other key stakeholders.
