This position is located at Polestar HQ, in Gothenburg.

Responsibilities:

The role reports to the Head of Financial Reporting & Control. As Director, Group Accounting you are responsible for a team of around 22 people and 3 direct reports. The role is part of a complex matrix organisation within a US-listed company, consisting of some 25companies world wide and a parent company in the UK.

Responsibility:

  • Overall responsibility for group accounting, group financial reporting and consolidation, including month end closing deliveries & reports to the CFO and shareholders
  • Leading 2 teams: the group accounting/consolidation team and the accounting team responsible for the largest Swedish entity in the Polestar Group
  • Overseeing the quarterly reporting deliveries, including footnotes and associated monthly and quarterly SOX controls
  • Implementation of accounting outcomes from the technical financial reporting team
  • Monitoring equity levels in stand-alone legal entities; input into covenant compliance process
  • Overseeing and monitoring the deliveries from the accounting shared service centre
  • Providing leadership and guidance to accounting teams and supporting their professional development
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote open communication and collaboration
