Overview of the role:
This is a high profile role within the finance function and is critical to our ability to meet our external reporting requirements. It sits within the Group Reporting and Technical Accounting team and would report directly into the Head of Group Reporting. The role has 5 direct reports located in London, India and New York. You will need to work closely with teams across Finance, Investor Relations and FP&A as well as with the IT systems teams.

Core Role:

  • Critical role in production and delivery of the consolidated Group financial statements and other external reporting obligations.
  • Own the Group reporting process on a monthly cycle and ensure the process is delivered consistently and on time.Drive continued improvements on the reporting process across the Group.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to other members of the Group Reporting team along with delivering broader support to the Finance Department as required.
  • Support in the development of finance systems.
  • Act as key coordinating role with auditors, including Deloitte transition.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the production of financial reporting in line with Group policies and procedures;
  • Management of the teams responsible for Group Consolidation and Cash Flow production;
  • Ownership and review of the divisional financials submitted to Group;
  • Manage HFM and the reporting into the finance systems, including working with IT to resolve any system issues impacting the Group financial reporting process.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and assesses reporting best practices for new and existing activities and transaction flows and implementing those changes to the system;
  • Coordinate with divisional reporting teams to manage the month end close process and own the monthly timetable;
  • Work with the technical accounting team to finalise statutory reporting;
  • Coordinate with Auditors on deliverables, close and sign-off;
  • Provision of any analysis to support business and provision of information;
  • Query resolution and support to reporting finance teams and the wider Group;
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and assesses reporting best practices for new and existing activities and transaction flows;
  • Work closely with FP&A to ensure financial information provided in the Management packs is accurate.
  • Work closely with IR to help manage and deliver on external reporting requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Accountancy Qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ACA or equivalent) .
  • Extensive post qualified experience.
  • Experience in IFRS accounting standards.
  • Strong stakeholder and project management skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues.
  • Effective oral and written communication that resonates with the target audience.
  • Management skills to deal with other qualified senior accountants as well as non-finance audience.
  • Pro-active behaviour that demonstrates initiative and positive work ethic to ensure activities are delivered to the required time, budget and quality.
  • Ability to utilise all available resources and toolsets to investigate and resolve problems and ensures the most appropriate solution is identified.
  • Strong planning and prioritising according to business needs.
