JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role is the glue between business and marketing executional and measurement teams. Reporting to the AVP Health Marketing, the Director Health Product Marketing, Channel Delivery will serve as a critical member of the Health Marketing leadership team. Responsible for defining the health marketing product strategy and executional delivery and continuous improvement across channels that support and drive Sun Life Canada Health strategy and Business Unit objectives. This leader will function as the overall product channel and delivery marketing lead for our group benefits clients and health business unit, directly managing marketing agile teams and work with product and service marketing teams that cross our group benefits and emerging health marketing engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Working in partnership with the Director Health, Product Marketing, Strategy to develop product Go to Market marketing strategy for our Health programs. The Director Health, Product Marketing, Channel Delivery will work closely with CoE (Centre of Excellence) partners in marketing (brand, performance, cross-client), key CXO partner teams (data, journey), and the business units to build annual plans, quarterly campaigns and monthly initiatives that drive business impact and create value for clients. The Director will be responsible for leveraging brand, product and partner data insights to develop, lead and manage full funnel integrated marketing & communication plans that align with and drive Business Unit objectives and Sun Life Health brand vision to help Canadians live healthier lives.
The Director is critical in defining, leading, and managing execution of tactical strategies within each health product and developing best practices across health products. This role will be responsible for connecting marketing strategies that leverage and enable the client experience and establish personalization initiatives based on client insights and analytics. This role will develop data driven test and learn strategies to better define the purpose and value of each channel, and the role it plays across the customer journey as well as uncovering key gaps and new opportunities.

The Director will be responsible for developing and improving the marketing capabilities and talent for our direct to consumer and member health strategy. This role will be champion planning and driving an agile process of continuous improvement, partnering with data and digital channel teams to drive more relevant data driven interactions across the health businesses. This role will be key in understanding and bridging strategies across Sun Life sustainability, global partnerships and internal & external communications teams. This role will be key in helping re-imagine team process in how we think, how we work and what we deliver, based on different types of health products and their different stages: start up vs scale up.

  • Act as the channel & delivery lead for the Health BU marketing product and support our marketing efforts.
  • Build a comprehensive understanding of Health marketing landscape to build impactful go to market initiatives.
  • Develop and manage annual integrated plans, quarterly campaigns, and monthly initiatives for BU health products.
  • Own and manage the evolution of the Health BU engagement and agile pods within our client connect eco-system.
  • Coordinate the development of a compelling test and learn strategy that drives continuous improvement and value for clients in our Health vertical.
  • Work in collaboration with marketing COE owners and CXO key partners to review or design parts of Sun Life Health’s Client acquisition content, engagement strategies.
  • Accountable for the measurement of KPIs and make appropriate recommendations for action based on insights.
  • Own and manage the overall resources and marketing budget in partnership with the BU lead in the businesses.
  • Build expertise in the vertical they lead through on-going integration with BU leaders, their team, and external partnerships.
  • Build annual KPI focused plans and have a bias for outcome driven marketing execution.
