Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

We are recruiting for an HR Director, Europe to join our team in Germany.
You will serve as a strategic leader in the development, oversight, implementation, coordination and administration of all major human resource programs and functions for Matthews Europe Engineering , including recruitment, employee relations and engagement, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal process, budgets, training and development in conjunction with supervisors, benefits administration, safety and employee services. Manages teams of HR professionals across various geographies in support of one or more business segment.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field (e.g., Finance, Business Administration)
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
  • Fluent in German, good knowledge of English
  • 10+ years progressive human resources experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally will be required.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems required. Basic proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors highly preferred.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Executes the Engineering (and Industrial Technologies as required) Strategy and Strategic initiatives/projects in the Europe region and collaborates and coordinates with other regions and colleagues to get this done.
  • Assume management responsibility for assigned services and activities of the Human Resources Division including but not limited to recruitment, job classification, works council management, compensation, workers compensation, employee benefits administration, employee relations, training and compliance.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure the financial targets of the business are met. Proactively bring up ideas and initiatives which support this goal.
  • Build a solid pipeline of talent through internal upskilling and external hiring in the right locations to deliver business needs. Work collaboratively with other HR leads to support these needs.
  • Build and Integrate HR operations to the Matthews HR systems and process.
  • Put continuous improvements actions in place to improve HR service delivery. Recommends new policies and procedures to improve HR operations or policies.
  • Effective management of works councils and employee councils in various sites in region. Has strong knowledge of agreements, regulations, GDPR and labour laws for locations covered.
  • Deliverables are executed in a timely manner and with accuracy while keeping the broad objective and/or various connections in view before executing or deciding on next steps.
  • Change management support for leaders and employees. Work with change management network as needed.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employees to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished and in alignment with the business strategy. Mentors, coaches, educates, and develops team.
  • Manage the HR costs and responsible for completing the annual HR budget.
  • Able to work outside normal working hours and days to meet business demands.
  • Able to work in a global matrix work environment.
