If you are an experienced Human Resources Director, and fluent in both French and English (written and oral), we’d love to hear from you! This role is an on-site position and based in Toronto North York Head Office in Ontario

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Build and maintain strongly influential working relationships with all client areas, including senior leadership, to enable effective service delivery with high trust, credibility, and influence
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with HR, recruitment and payroll colleagues including subject matter experts
  • Facilitate teamwork and constructive working relationships within client areas, including use of conflict resolution techniques where appropriate

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in human resources or business-related field
  • Designation in HR (CPHR, CHRL CHRP or equivalent)
  • 8+ years of experience as a HR Leader, including experience as a HR Generalist
  • Proven track record of leading a team of diverse HR professionals
  • Solid multi provincial experience in Employment Standards and Employment Law knowledge

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office including PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop comprehensive and strategic solutions to complex cases
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills with an ability to adapt and interact at all levels
  • Solid understanding of HR practices and processes, and attention to detail
  • Strong investigation techniques, risk analyses, and reporting and analytics
  • Ability to multi-task at all times in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with knowledge and experience in consulting and facilitation, with the ability to assess leadership team capabilities and influence leaders to align with strategic HR goals
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion
  • Fluency in both English and French a must

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee investigations and bring any complex situations to the attention of the VP of HR
  • Oversee HR analytics and metrics to be provided to the VP of HR and develop new metrics as required
  • Oversee terminations to ensure progressive discipline is followed and bring forward any final terminations to the attention of the VP of HR
  • Assist with dealing with lawyers for legal cases as required
  • Oversee the updating of policies as required and training of such
  • Ensuring onboarding and offboarding processes are up to date
  • Mentor, coach and support the HR team
  • Assist the VP of HR in mitigating risk where necessary
  • Accomplishes special project results by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities
  • Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions
  • Employee relations
  • Oversee employee health & safety and related safety issues
  • Recommends process improvements to VP of HR
  • Standardizes processes to ensure simplification for operations and other team members
  • Gather and analyze statistical data to determine trends and projections
  • Develop, implement, maintain, distribute, and evaluate OH&S as well as HR standard operating procedures, documents, and forms
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the HRIS database and human resources files
  • Produce and maintain accurate reports, records, and files
  • Lead by example and manage department staff including orientation, training, performance management, and daily supervision
  • Provides leadership to build knowledge based and agile teams through coaching guiding and modelling key behaviours to encourage dialogue, problem solving and resolution to workplace issues
  • Oversees the designated team to successfully provide expert counsel, high quality services, act as a business partner, and to embody and support 123Dentist values
  • Supports the VP of HR on strategic leadership and the planning, development and management of the overall HR strategy, goals and objectives
  • Other duties or projects as assigned by the VP of HR
