Responsibilities:
- Developing long-term strategic human resource plans, encompassing succession planning, relationships, philosophies, and communications across the company
- Diligently overseeing our Health & Safety program
- Serving as a trusted advisor to all business units, offering guidance on HR matters
- Building and maintaining robust working relationships with union officials in alignment with corporate culture
- Collaborating with the HR Manager to oversee labor relations, collective bargaining processes, and compliance with relevant legislation, including AODA standards
- Ensuring compliance with WSIB legislation, conducting monthly reporting on key performance indicators related to health and safety
- Recommending organizational structure and staffing changes through the HR planning process
- Providing oversight for manpower planning, recruitment, placement, and retention efforts at all company levels
- Managing the hourly and salaried benefits, employee recognition programs, service awards, and performance recognition initiatives
- Strategically planning for security and compliance with the Controlled Goods Program
- Overseeing training and development initiatives to ensure alignment with company goals
- Collaborating with the Technical Trainer and Training & Development Coordinator to meet training requirements
- Creating and maintaining documented procedures for key HR processes
- Providing oversight and guidance for payroll processes for all employees, managed by the HR Manage
