Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Director, Legal Claims, to join our growing team!

As the Director of Legal Claims Support, you will be one of the key members of the Ontario Legal Claims management team and will be the Director responsible for managing the administrative operations of the Legal Claims Support department (Law Clerks, Legal Assistants and Administrative Support teams). You will lead a team of claims & unit managers having the oversight of all support groups and will report to the Vice President, Legal Claims. While this role may be primarily based out of our Mississauga or Toronto office locations, there will be periodic travel to all of our Ontario offices.

YOU’LL ALSO HANDLE MANY KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the establishment of objectives included in the business plan and implement approaches to achieve regional Legal Claims goals in line with business strategies and the organization’s financial, material and human resources.
  • Ensure a high level of employee engagement by continually monitoring overall engagement and creating and executing engagement action plans.
  • Ensure efficient and effective work processes, quality service, effective indemnity and legal expense control.
  • Establish and refine best practices workflows and ensure consistency across all Ontario offices.
  • Assess and address workforce planning needs to maintain service levels and productivity benchmarks.
  • Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing key performance indicators relating to productivity.
  • Build a collaborative approach and savvy business strategy that is aligned with Intact’s priorities and promotes great relationships within Claims and Legal Claims.
  • Focus on achieving KPI objectives.
  • Oversee and audit internal litigation activities and align with best practices and professional standards.
  • Build a plan to identify trends in the legal environment.
  • Communicate national policies and procedures to the legal team.
