Description:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-5 + years’ PQE experience at a major law firm or in-house
- Experience in managing paralegals / trainees
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal, including being able to flex communication style to diverse geographies and team members
- Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced and team-oriented environment
- Strong time and task management skills and possessing an ability to manage multiple priorities and raise issues in a timely fashion
- Meticulous attention to detail is essential
- Experience in real estate and/or private equity is a plus, but is not essential
- Proficiency in full suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW:
BPG is seeking a corporate lawyer to assist in a variety of day-to-day matters faced by the in-house real estate legal group of a large, dynamic global business, and have a willingness to embrace a diverse range of business issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervising and mentoring two junior legal associates
- Supporting business groups, including investments, finance, capital markets, tax, and operations, on corporate projects
- Coordinating and overseeing entity incorporations, restructurings, and dissolutions, including review and analysis of tax structuring advice
- Assisting the other members of the legal team with managing deliverables associated with financings and other transactions
- Overseeing preparation of corporate structure charts and Diligent updates
- Overseeing responses to third-party AML, KYC and sanctions compliance requests pertaining to Brookfield and its European portfolio including issuances of AML letters
- US Custody Rule analysis and compliance and US antitrust reporting
- Ensuring adherence with Brookfield’s legal entity protocols
- Reviewing funds flow memorandums
- Reviewing and negotiating service provider engagements
• Responsibility for high-volume NDA process (outsourced), and NDA execution • Securities Watchlist maintenance
- Managing external corporate administrators and law firms
- Researching and monitoring changes in applicable corporate laws, regulations and guidance, primarily in the UK and EU, as well as industry developments, best practices, and trends
- Assisting internal stakeholders and external law firms and other vendors with any questions relating to Brookfield’s legal entities, processes and procedures
