Director, Market & Securities Services Insights – Institutional Sales Enablement

Our products and services include advisory, financing, prime services, research and analysis, securities services, trading and sales and transaction banking.
Within GBM, HSBC Market and Securities Services (MSS) works with corporate and institutional clients where we provide a wide range of markets products via our specialist teams – one of these teams is the Institutional Sales Enablement (ISE). This team sits in Institutional Sales within our Global Markets and Securities Services (MSS) business.
The ISE team are an important function that aid the front office sales efforts and have 3 arms: Client Intelligence, Global Investor Access & Market Insights
We are currently seeking a professional to join our Market Insights team as a Director.
Overview: You will be at the forefront of our efforts as we convert various information streams into actionable content.
Using product research, thought leadership, product experts, industry and markets trends and customer feedback, you will be a key member of the team that creates actionable insight and content to provide a cross-product and cross-geography view of industry/market behaviours, threats and opportunities. You will act as our ‘idea generator’.
The content we produce is utilised by our Institutional Sales function to give our investor clients and similar audience members the ability to make focused decisions that promote considered investment opportunities, resulting in greater profitability.
The role holder will also ensure the HSBC values are present in everything they do, both individually and as an organisation. The role has a working pattern that will be office-based at HSBC offices at Canada Square, London with some flexibility for home working. You must be able to work in London on a weekly basis.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Directly collaborate with Marketing, Comms, Brand and PR teams to leverage/promote the Institutional Sales Verticals by selecting topics and key spokespeople in order to create thought provoking and visually pleasing thought leadership campaigns.
  • Provide active input and work with senior management to assist in the build out and implementation of the thought leadership strategy.
  • Support our design and delivery colleagues in the creation and optimisation of thought leadership content delivery channels including videos, podcasts, brochures, webinar, articles/publications, podcasts etc.
  • Forge positive relationships with other areas of the Bank and Group to promote Institutional Sales thought leadership across the Group to a diverse set of clients.
  • Liaise with Regulatory Compliance to ensure that all client materials are in accordance with regulatory external publication standards.
  • Be a valued colleague and active contributor to the Insights team and wider ISE function.

Requirements

To be successful you will demonstrate the following:

  • Developed the appropriate Director level of experience in a Market Insights related role.
  • Have a strong knowledge base of Global Markets, Securities Services or the Institutional investor landscape.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills that engender confidence when engaging with senior business leaders and other internal teams (marketing, brand, comms etc)
  • Possess an ability to generate ideas & concepts and navigate these ideas into actionable and real-life insights and content.
  • Be extremely organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities and timescales.
