DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Secmation has an exciting leadership opportunity for a results-driven, forward-facing, customer relations expert in Business Development with professional experience in the Defense industry. This individual will lead the identification, qualification, and pursuit of new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience with software products or services in Cybersecurity, Military Communications, Avionics, or IT. The director will be responsible for developing customer and partner relationships to expand the BD pipeline achieving Company growth goals. Your success in this position will be founded on your business-relations background having demonstrated your ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of related experience in U.S. Defense Business Development with a proven track record of business capture for technical services programs.
  • Experience working with DoD customers focused on software products or services with significant knowledge in Cybersecurity, Military Communications, Avionics, or IT.
  • Ability to drive full lifecycle of business development activities from customer identification through successful capture management.
  • Proven track record in business development capture activities and leading captures for programs valued at more than $5M.
  • Demonstrable understanding of federal procurement acquisition process, contract types (non-IDIQ, IDIQ - single or multiple award contracts), as well as payment types (e.g., FFP, T&M, cost plus) is expected.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective business strategies.
  • Current DoD Security Clearance (at any level).
  • Must be willing to travel for the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the strategic direction and lead all business development, capture, and proposal management activities.
  • Expand the opportunity pipeline focused on US Defense customers leading to successful opportunity capture.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with new and current key customers and strategic partners to identify and facilitate new business opportunities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies in order to successfully identify client requirements for new business opportunities.
  • Provide market analysis, strategic business planning, and capture strategy/solution development, leading to award of major programs.
