MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

An applicant’s education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are generally representative of the education, experience, and skills and/or abilities required to enable one to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field required with five years of casino experience in managing a Cage and Count Department. Must possess excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate with demonstrated proficiency in a variety of Cage and Count software applications. Demonstrated knowledge of casino credit/collection practices and Title 31 administration. Must be 21 years of age.

GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field with five years of experience as a Director of Cage and Count at a casino similar in the size of FireKeepers Casino Hotel.
Successful completion of any of the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Track Training programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports
and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal, and work with mathematics such as probability and statistical inference.

INDIAN PREFERENCE

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.

  • Develops, implements and directs departmental policy and procedures which enable the Cage and Count Department to function effectively.
  • Oversees all Cage and Count Department operations to ensure compliance with applicable controls, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures a robust training program is in place so that Cage and Count personnel are properly trained on the performance of their job duties.
  • Confirms a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained with respect to the Cage and Count operations.
  • Coordinates pertinent information and tasks with various appropriate departments, interacting with said departments through performance of Cage and/or Count tasks.
  • Ensures an accurate balance of cash in bankroll at all times while investigating variances as warranted.
  • Coordinates casino credit in a marker bank. It includes activities such as collection and maintaining accurate records of outstanding balances and being a Member of the credit committee.
  • Creates and reviews the Cage and Count Departmental practice and resolution of customer issues and investigates situations while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Maintains ticket redemption, ATM and Count Room equipment while ensuring a routine maintenance program is in place and effective.
  • Maintains relationships with vendors to ensure relevant software and equipment is continuously up to date while having a plan in place to address deficiencies when system or equipment issues arise.
  • Display a thorough knowledge of all Title 31 and NHBP Gaming Regulations and ensures department compliance.
  • Manages the pickup and count of gaming activity in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal laws and the NHBP Tribal regulations.
  • Leads and assists the Cage Shift Managers and Cage Supervisors in understanding the complexities of certain responsibilities within the department.
  • Creates and administers departmental operating budget and budget controls.
  • Establishes departmental standards and goals, and regularly evaluates departmental progress, revising standards and goals as needed.
  • Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports while making revisions as necessary to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.
  • Outstanding example of and a credit to FireKeepers Casino Hotel.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include maintaining sufficient staffing levels; interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
