    HireRoad is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Cyber Security to join our team in Australia. This role is critical in safeguarding our company’s digital assets by implementing robust cybersecurity measures and driving the regional cybersecurity program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in a cybersecurity role with a proven track record in implementing or maintaining ISM and ISO 27001 controls.
  • A strong understanding of network infrastructure, database security, encryption technologies, and cloud security.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a regional cybersecurity program effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex security issues to non-technical internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with Australian government security frameworks, including but not limited to PSPF, ISM, and the Essential Eight.
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain an Australian NV1 clearance.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and policies in alignment with the Australian Government’s Information Security Manual (ISM) and the ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
  • Conduct internal security audits to ensure alignment with the ISM and compliance to the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 frameworks.
  • Lead initiatives to support HireRoad’s product development team to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Lead the design and execution of security controls to mitigate identified risks and enhance system security.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security practices into daily operations and project initiatives.
  • Manage and respond to security incidents and breaches with a structured approach, ensuring timely mitigation, clear communication, and compliance to HireRoad’s legislative, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
  • Drive the regional cybersecurity program, including setting goals, defining KPIs, and reporting on program progress to senior leadership.
  • Maintain current insights into the latest cybersecurity technologies and trends to support the continuous improvement of HireRoad’s security posture.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members and other employees on cybersecurity best practices and awareness.
