DESCRIPTION
This is a 1 FTE position that report to the Office of the Provost. The Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging leads the development and implementation of proactive diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives in support of the University’s efforts at creating a learning and working environment where all have an opportunity to succeed. The Director will also collaborate with university stakeholders to ensure a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community of all races, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, sexualities, abilities, religions and other identities. The individual in this role serves as advisor and resource person for management and staff in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Three to five years of experience advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in a complex organization;
Engaging and deliberate communicator with a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities:
- Plans, guides and advises staff on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging matters. Collaborates with University management to create, implement and monitor programs designed to ensure fair and equitable treatment of students, faculty and staff.
- Serve as the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging committee.
- Partners with campus leaders, faculty, students, staff, and internal and external constituencies to provide campus programming
- Design and deliver diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging learning opportunities, training, and programming for the entire campus community.
- Provides strategic direction for advancing a campus culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging. Including the development of a competency gap analysis and plan of action.
- Represents the University to external community, organizations, and agencies and serves as a liaison with external agencies on matters of inclusion and diversity.
- Works with Institutional Research for purposes of assessing and reporting on the University’s culture, climate, and environment with respect to diversity and inclusion. Provides period reports on the same.
- Coordinates and sustains Circle Practices / Restorative Justice Initiatives to build community and advance just outcomes when addressing challenging circumstances and resolving harm to others and the University.
- Serves as the central resource for students, faculty, staff, and the Husson Community on matters of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
- Provides analysis of legislation and regulations related to equity and affirmative action and works in conjunction with the Human Resources, Student Life, Title IX, and Safety and Security to assist in regulatory compliance matters pertaining to inclusion and diversity.
- Gathers, researches and analyzes data for use in statistical calculations and reporting in order to meet federal and state requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
