Job Description
We currently have an unprecedented opportunity for an experienced and dynamic leader to join Minor Hotels as our Director of Entertainment and Sports.
As a key member of our sales function, this position will work closely with our sales leadership team to spearhead the implementation and execution of sales strategies for our properties across Australia and New Zealand.
This position is responsible for new business development and comprehensive account management for national Entertainment and Sport accounts throughout Australia and New Zealand. With a focus on fostering account growth, this position will identify expansion opportunities and bolster the portfolio presence, stimulating revenue growth and enhancing guest services for Minor Hotels ANZ.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Account management of national entertainment (TV/ film production, theatre, touring) and sporting accounts across Australia and New Zealand
  • Actively seeking out new business opportunities that will contribute to increased account production for entertainment and sport accounts across Minor Hotels properties within Australia & New Zealand
  • Developing and executing strategic sales plans and forecasts in conjunction with Revenue to achieve company objectives for all responsible revenue centres
  • Evaluating sales and market mix potential for the cluster overall and properties
  • Developing and managing sales operating budgets (OPEX)
  • Implementing strategies to drive occupancy and maximise revenue across Minor Hotels properties within Australia and New Zealand
  • Offering leadership and guidance to the wider sales team, fostering an environment that provides professional growth and development
  • Maintaining awareness of market rates for serviced apartments, specifically local competitor rates
  • Attending local and international trade events to increase brand awareness of Minor Hotels
    Qualifications

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in senior sales management, with a proven track record of success in developing and growing sales strategy
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Strong financial acumen, with solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Superior attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally when required
  • Professional presentation and work ethic
