Job Title:
Director of Investor Relations & Corporate Communications
Reports to (title):
Chief Financial Officer
Summary:
Collaborates with the management team to develop, plan, and implement investor relations and corporate communications programs and will be accountable for their day-to-day management and ultimately their successful outcomes. The individual will work closely with the CFO and CEO to develop and articulate our investor relations strategy and provide feedback from investors regarding the perception of the Company’s performance to achieve the Company’s investor relations goals. Responsible for the management, coordination and execution of our overall corporate communications strategy.

Key Duties & Accountabilities:

  • Assist with the development, implementation and execution of an integrated IR strategy and related comprehensive external communications program to ensure a consistent, timely flow of information about the Company to keep shareholders and the financial community current on the Company’s performance and strategic direction while maintaining compliance with corporate policies and securities regulations.
  • Serve as primary contact for the investment and sell side community.
  • Plan and manage appropriate and impactful strategic IR events (and calendar) including road shows, investor conferences, one on one meetings and conference calls, R&D days, IR conferences, calls/dinners with experts, etc.
  • Provides preparation, guidance and best practices related to IR to management team and prepare company representatives for investor meetings and other external-facing IR events.
  • Work with FP&A and Business Development to track, manage and compile sell-side analyst financial models, for competitive intelligence and benchmarking.
  • Monitor shareholder base, trading activity and provide insight/intelligence on share price activity/performance.
  • Maintain CRM Database and provide intelligence and insights on investment community entities and contacts including:
  • Funds and portfolio managers/buy side analysts
  • Analysts and respective coverage universes
  • Banks and respective track records/transactions
  • Develop and maintain overall corporate narrative and implement through associated materials, including but not limited to: strategic plans, press releases, scientific/medical facing communications and external-facing documents & presentations; ensure consistent messaging in all external arenas.
  • Work with internal functional experts to recognize external communications opportunities and events (clinical and corporate milestones, data presentations, etc.), and define and manage execution of appropriate strategies to support them.
  • Grow and support Solid’s digital presence, including the corporate website and social media channels.
  • Lead and manage the process of preparing analyses and key messages for all external financial communications, including earnings press releases, conference calls, SEC filings and other disclosures, Annual Report, management Q&As and backgrounders etc.
  • Serves as a strategic partner to internal parties, such as the Senior Leadership Team, HR, Clinical and Medical Affairs, R&D and Patient Advocacy, to ensure message and activity alignment amongst external communications activities.
  • Support financing activities – Updating presentations, incorporating new (pre) clinical data and working with bankers to coordinate roadshows/marketing

Knowledge: Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years’ experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry with a focus on investor relations and external communications.
  • Scientific knowledge/expertise a plus.
  • A track record of nurturing productive new relationships and maintaining existing investor relationships.
  • Understanding of SEC disclosure rules and regulations.

Travel Commitment:

  • Occasional travel required.
