Description:

DESCRIPTION

Our client in Lindsay Ontario, is looking for Director of Operations to add to their Team!
Role: Director of Operations
Salary: $120,000 + 20% year-end bonus based on company performance. ($144K total earning potential)
Hours: 7:00am – 3:30pm

Environment:

  • 200K sq. ft plant
  • 80 FT employees. Up to 130 employees during peak
  • Social committee holds an event once a month; Summer BBQs, birthday celebrations, anniversary recognitions
  • Building safety culture

Average day:

  • Reporting to the CFO
  • First 3-6 months is learning the business.
  • Meetings; strategizing, budgeting, monthly discussions, meeting targets, development of middle management team
  • Direct participation on the plant floor in al different departments; logistics, shipping and receiving, operations and production, quality, upholstery
  • Overseeing operations of the business and reporting that to the VP and CFO
  • Implementing plans on to the floor; product launches, pivoting, a lot of delegation, making sure tasks get completed
  • Odd travel to Utah where Head Office O is and Europe required. Candidate must be able to travel to US.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years managerial experience and with a successful track record in efficiency and performance.
  • Proven ability to lead a team to build on a positive team culture and collaboration.
  • Previous experience leading a team in a manufacturing/durable goods environment.
  • Previous experience in furniture and upholstery manufacturing is a requirement for the successful candidate.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Lean certified would be an asset as company is slowly rolling out lean processes
  • Strong background in Workplace Safety Leadership.
  • Must be able to travel to US and Europe on occasion for product and process training.
  • Proficient MS Office Suite
