JOB SUMMARY

As the Director of Operations, you will inspire, coordinate, and lead the represented work forces within Manufacturing and Logistics to safely deliver high quality products on time, with a strong focus on design for manufacturability and continuous improvement. The director is the advocate for the team to ensure they have the resources required to exceed customer expectations. You will work with other directors and the VP of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Logistics as a team representing the companies’ operational leaders. You will develop and sustain a vision for continued growth and improved efficiency for the team and partner with other business leaders to achieve Millennium’s goals.
This position’s internal job code is Operations Integrator Manager. Our team is currently hiring for level L.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (ABET accreditation required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving skills
  • 9 years of experience in manufacturing
  • 7 years of experience in a leadership position
  • Demonstrated experience scaling manufacturing rate capability

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Experience managing a represented work force
  • Experience managing a large team (>50 individuals; direct and indirect reports)
  • Active Clearance

SUMMARY PAY-RANGE

  • Level L: $138,550 - $203,750

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operator safety and champion process improvement to reduce cost/lead time without sacrificing hardware reliability
  • Provide mentorship and support development of members of the team via regular 1:1s, formal performance review sessions, career development plans, etc.
  • Develop work forecasts to satisfy multiple potential work scenarios/allocations
  • Manage current and long-term staffing, including headcount projections, candidate recruiting pipelines, etc.
  • Own team communication
  • Provide overall company happenings and provide context to get ahead of swirl
  • Explain situations in context of the employee, the team, and Millennium
  • Provide rationale and background for higher level decisions
  • Implement and facilitate robust cross-training programs in order to maximize workforce flexibility
  • Establish strong cross-functional relationships to help set and drive priorities across the business
  • Provide design for manufacturability and business process feedback/guidance to support standardization and enable robust, high volume production
  • Establish, own, and report on success metrics for the team
