Description:
We provide a Monday to Friday Pharmacy service at WDHS as well as information and advice across the health service.
The position of Director of Pharmacy is responsible for leading and managing a dedicated pharmacy team and will be responsible for Pharmacy services and resources, ensuring progressive highest levels of care to patients and ensuring professional standards are implemented and maintained consistent with WDHS requirements. This position will suit a highly motivated individual with extensive hospital pharmacy experience, especially in a managerial role.
This successful applicant will provide professional and strategic leadership regarding the delivery of pharmacy services across all WDHS campuses and ensure medication management is abided by in accordance with the Society of Hospital Pharmacist of Australia Standards and WDHS best practice and guidelines.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking candidates with the following:
- Registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA with extensive hospital pharmacy experience and post graduate pharmacy qualifications or other relevant qualifications.
- Demonstrated successful managerial and clinical experience in a hospital pharmacy, including excellent knowledge of PBS.
- Excellent leadership skills and efficient communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical governance processes and experience and implementing quality improvement activities, patient safety and risk management.

- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of teamwork in a health service environment, including the ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with colleagues, supervisors, and other staff at WDHS.
