Description:

DKS is seeking a senior transportation engineer/planner who is passionate about innovation and creativity and has the ability to influence an organization through transformative change. The position is a dual-role that includes companywide leadership and practice-focused work. In a companywide leadership role, this position will work under the direction of our COO to lead and oversee activities that continuously advance DKS Associates to the leading edge of our practices and foster a culture of creativity and innovation. As a senior engineer/planner (i.e., a Technical Expert and/or Seller/Doer) this role will report to an Office Director or Regional VP to work within a practice team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead our Innovation Program, including oversight of targeted investments, culture development for innovation and creativity across the company, and internal celebrations of both idea sharing and successful initiatives
  • Develop and guide our Discipline Groups (focus areas of our Practices) to gain company alignment and consistency with our strategic direction
  • Support the development of the technical portion of our internal training program, including partnership with our HR team and office leaders to implement trainings, monitor skill depth/needs across the company, and provide input to our recruiting strategy
  • Support external branding/promotion activities by partnering with our Discipline/Practice Leaders and our Director of Marketing to identify conferences to target, events/initiatives to sponsor, and external communications to promote our practices
  • Participate in our Strategic Plan Management Team (SPMT) to shape and implement our 3-year plans
  • Engage in strategic professional societies and conferences
  • Develop new client relationships for DKS and build on current client relationships, including partnerships with other consulting firms
  • Continue to lead your practice through your technical expertise and/or seller/doer role, including generating new work and guiding successful project delivery.
  • Assure client satisfaction through implementation of our Client Experience (CX) and QC/QA initiatives
  • Work with, train, and mentor less experienced staff
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Recruit and develop talent to grow our practice
Don’t meet every requirement? Studies show that women, communities of color and historically underrepresented talent are less likely to apply to a position unless they meet every single qualification of the job. At DKS Associates we are dedicated to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we strongly encourage you to apply. You may be just who we’re looking for.
