Description:

RMS Energy Co., LLC is a nationwide provider of turn-key services to the power industry. From routine maintenance, inspection, and repairs to equipment design, engineering, and installation, RMS Energy offers a variety of solutions to fit the energy related needs of our customers. To help facilitate our expanding business, RMS Energy is currently seeking a Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. The Director of PMO will be responsible for the direction, oversight, and leadership of the project management department. This position will support the VP of Operations and division manager with maintaining utilization and profitability of the Bus Services Division ensuring projects and programs align with organizational goals and requirements. Interested candidates located within the Cincinnati, OH metropolitan area preferred; however, this position is eligible to work remotely

  • Ownership and accountability of project management office to ensure best practices and standards of excellence.
  • Lead strategic planning, project governance and defining project management methodologies used across the organization.
  • Standardize best practices, oversee business administration, risk management, and change management.
  • Manage and allocate resources across projects based on priorities, schedules, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical requirements and adhere to customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain policies, practices, and standards of the company’s PMO.
  • Champion strong project governance.
  • Coach and mentor team of project managers.
  • Build, manage, and maintain key customer, suppliers, and subcontractor relationships.
  • Provide monthly project reports on status, financial performance, and scheduled milestones.
  • Manage risk through identifying, analyzing, and reducing potential project risks by enacting mitigation measures.
  • Review, negotiate, and manage vendor and customer contracts.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of project managers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering, technical, or business field
  • 10+ Years experience in the power generation or utility industry, or related electrical construction field
  • 5+ years of senior level project management experience performed in a leadership role.
  • Experience in design / build projects with internal engineering team, or supply side.
  • Thorough understanding of financial principles as they relate to project management office.
  • Understanding of PMI best practices and body of knowledge, CAPM or PMP encouraged
  • Experience in leading project teams from a variety of backgrounds and across divisions.
  • Able to negotiate vendor and customer contracts independently and develop project documents.

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Employs professional and effective communication in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manages time efficiently with the ability to work and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Self-driven and exhibits the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic computer skills

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Primary work location is Erlanger, KY
  • Up to 30% travel required.
  • Physically able to walk large project sites, stand for long periods, and work outside in order to gather information.
  • Ability to effectively work remotely.
