Forge is based in Columbus, Ohio, in a 200,000 square foot facility known affectionately by team members as, the Hearth. The Hearth, is a custom-designed cGMP facility dedicated to AAV manufacturing and hosts scalable, end-to-end manufacturing services.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position works in both a warehouse and typical office environment where the physical work demands will vary depending on the specific tasks and duties required of the job. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to occasionally loud. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs. The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Ability to frequently operate a computer, and communicate with others in person, over the phone, and via other devices. Must be able to move about the facility for moderate to extended periods of time. Ability to wear task dependent personal protective equipment as needed.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director Project, Plant and Automation Engineering will lead a team of approximately 6-10 project, plant engineers and engineering technicians. This position is responsible for the overall site investment (Capex) portfolio strategy including both short and long range investments, and the execution of the annual CapEx budget. The Sr. Director will play a pivotal role in leading and managing engineering projects, optimizing plant operations, and implementing processes. This role will also develop the reliability strategy of critical and key GMP assets (facility and equipment) to drive quality and safety compliance and asset availability. The Sr. Director of Engineering will also lead the automation technologies around critical utilities and GMP assets.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Project, Plant, and Automation Engineering functions
  • Creates and manages departmental KPIs that align with site and corporate specific objectives
  • Fosters a continuous improvement mindset and promotes collaboration with all partners including Manufacturing, Operations, Development and Quality
