We are currently hiring Director of Projects for our heavy steel industry powerhouse located in Mäntyluoto, Pori. Work can be performed in hybrid model.
The position is part of our Industry business division, in Enersense Offshore Oy. It is a Finnish powerhouse specializing in engineering, project management and fabrication in heavy steel industry having extensive experience in delivering demanding global turnkey projects. The company is continuing the long offshore-industry tradition in Pori, based on major project deliveries over five decades. Enersense Offshore has plenty of experience in large domestic and international engineering-, project management and fabrication projects.
The Director of Projects is the owner of the project execution process of Enersense Offshore Oy and responsible for monitoring and developing projects based on the company’s strategy and objectives. The Director of Projects is responsible for providing leadership, expertise as well as direction to a team consisting of Project Managers and Coordinators.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Technical M.Sc. or B.Sc. level education
• Several years of project management and team lead experience, previous project management experience in the offshore or shipbuilding industry is considered as a plus
• Good IT skills (MS Office applications)
• Understanding different planning/scheduling mechanisms
• Understanding the project cost build-up
• Good communication skills in English and Finnish
• Good understanding of QHSE management systems and the associated standards
• Excellent coordination and collaboration skills needed to coordinate activities with the personnel in different departments
• Independent decision making is part of the daily tasks and leadership skills are mandatory while overseeing multiple projects
• Proactiveness as well as strong negotiation skills

• Lead a team of project managers and coordinators to ensure successful project delivery.
• Monitor and control project budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Participate in development and follow up of the company’s strategies (long & short term) and business plans including definition of the objectives and KPI’s.
• Interaction with different stakeholders such as clients, educational entities, public organizations and joint industry collectives.
• Follow and improve the company operations by monitoring and reacting to the defined KPI’s.
• Identify resource needs for the Project Manager and different project controls positions.
• Oversee and provide support to project execution activities in a project “Sponsor” role.
• Facilitating the internal project reviews.
• Develop and enforce the project management processes and procedures in order to achieve the best possible outcome on the projects.
• Participate in the development of tools and methods for project management (e.g. planning, risk management, cost control).
• In cooperation with the sales team, participate in the activities related to the tendering process and marketing efforts.
• Develop and enforce the sales and tendering processes to further improve utilization of the identified opportunities.
• Actively work towards the success of the company as a member of the management committee.
• Implement and promote a strong safety culture within project teams.
