Plymouth City Council is seeking to appoint an exceptional Director of Public Health (DPH), with the skills and vision to be a transformational system leader, shaping the strategic decisions affecting the health of the city and local community and to improve health and well-being outcomes for the people of Plymouth.

We have a strong foundation of a public health approach across all areas of the city’s strategies (within the Plymouth Plan) and have already made significant progress around integrated working across multiple organisations and within communities.
The DPH is a statutory chief officer post and is a much valued member of the Council’s Corporate Management Team. The role reports to the Chief Executive, heading up the Office of the Director of Public Health, (ODPH) one of six directorates at Plymouth City Council.
