Job Description
$160-$170 / per year
The Director, Purchasing & Supply Chain position is a member obsessed leadership role at a high growth, multi-site hospitality business. The Purchasing & Supply Chain function will support construction, fitness, retail & smoothie operations, operations, home office, and many other functions with their needs. This role requires strategic, technical, change management, and operational expertise, demonstrated through prior education and professional work experience.
This role will conceive, build, establish a member focused shared service purchasing function. This will require managing significant change with regards to personnel, structure, policies, processes, and systems which will need to be designed to scale to support the business’ growth. This role will design, implement, and then execute internal controls and compliance over significant portions of the procure-to-pay and inventory processes.

Relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders is critical to this role’s success. The Director, Purchasing & Supply Chain will be accountable for established KPIs, including securing budgetary savings via supplier optimization and contract negotiation.   • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize purchasing processes and achieve cost saving targets
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing guidance, training, and annual performance evaluations.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Design, implement, administer, and monitor contracts and purchasing policies, programs, processes, and systems.
  • Manage the shared service Purchasing department providing advisory support to leadership and transactional support to the business.
  • Manage both 3rd party and internally managed inventory warehouses, ensuring operating and financial objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Partner with executive, regional, district, club level leadership to develop best-in-class supply chain execution.
  • Counsel executives on implication of supply chain issues, contracts/subcontract ethics, and compliance matters.
  • Lead negotiations of major contracts, subcontracts, services, and supply agreements.
  • Review and recommend terms & conditions including confidentiality and other agreements.
  • Represent the company to suppliers, establishing and developing supplier relationships.
  • Onboard new suppliers and manage change with existing suppliers.
  • Lead supplier performance management initiatives, evaluating supplier performance against established criteria and driving continuous improvement efforts
  • Drive operational and financial excellence by meeting or exceeding established department KPIs.
  • Develop, present, and monitor programs to communicate to staff.
  • Responsible for responding to internal and external audits of contracts and procurement functions, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (required)
  • 10+ years professional procurement experience. (required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency over supply chain management and processes.
  • Working experience of relevant ERP software (NetSuite preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience at a multi-location company. (preferred)
  • APICS certification (preferred)
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated contract negotiation skills resulting in favorable terms and outcomes.
  • Able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Organized, accountable, and able to set and reach goals.
  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Capacity to receive and deliver constructive feedback.
