POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Director of Revenue Accounting to lead and oversee our revenue accounting function. This is a fully remote position and the ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant recognition of revenue and direct costs of revenue across our global operations. This is a highly technical role and this position will partner closely with RevOps to help build out Salesforce CPQ as well as be responsible for implementing the contracts module within Sage Intacct.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in Revenue Accounting / Order to Cash function within a high-growth global SaaS organization
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 606 / ASC 340)
  • Experience managing a collections team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
  • Salesforce experience required
  • Indirect tax experience is strongly preferred (sales, use, VAT tax, etc.)
  • CPA and Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred
  • M&A integration experience is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working for a PE-backed company preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the revenue accounting team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members
  • Develop and implement revenue recognition policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards (ASC 606) and company requirements
  • Ensure revenue and direct costs associated with revenue are recognized accurately, consistently, and in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
  • Manage our AR function and ensure timely billing and collections of customer invoices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, RevOps, and Product to provide guidance on contract structures and pricing models to optimize for process flexibility and revenue recognition
  • Prepare and review revenue-related financial statements and disclosures for both internal and external reporting
  • Ensure the company is collecting and remitting indirect taxes appropriately (sales, use, VAT, etc.)
  • Proactively identify and address accounting issues, while maintaining strong internal controls and adherence to the company’s policies
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging accounting standards and provide recommendations on their impact on the company
  • Oversee the preparation and management of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue accounting close processes
  • Work with external auditors to ensure the successful completion of financial audits and reviews
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy in revenue accounting
