DIRECTOR OF SALES - NATIONAL NATURAL ACCOUNTS - APPLEGATE (HOME OFFICE)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7-10 years sales experience in a consumer-packaged goods industry.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Lotus notes.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to create, influence and negotiate long term win/win business relationships.
  • Highly motivated with strong field sales leadership at customer level - must have managed, written, activated customer operating plans with positive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple management levels within customer and leverage relationships to achieve results.
  • Strong trade planning, category management and analysis skills.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of Applegate financials including P&L impact of sales decisions.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
  • Applicants must not now, or in the future, requiresponsorship for an employment visa

Location: The preferred home office location for this position is close to a major US airport.
Travel: Up to 30%

The base pay range is $126,000 to $165,900 per year; however, actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. (CA, CO, IL & WA)

Responsibilities:

  • Accountability to deliver profitable sales growth commensurate with assigned financial and sales-based objectives through the effective leadership of a team of 4 direct reports.
  • Develop and execute annual sales plans for the assigned accounts by growing the distribution of Applegate products. Achieve assigned Net Sales and Trade Spending objectives for the respective and collective sales territories.
  • Collaborate with Sales Strategy Department to improve Field Sales trade spend efficiency to maximize our trade ROI to deliver the annual operating plan.
  • Effectively lead the team as evidenced by consistent high performance against objectives and competition. Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching, training, and support as needed. Lead the process of broker management to ensure Applegate receives optimal broker sales execution and sales planning support.
  • Deliver executional excellence against the four sales controllables (i.e., distribution, shelf management, pricing, and promotions) within each of the assigned territories.
  • Work with VP of Field Sales and Director of Sales Strategy to lead and implement the customer planning process.
  • Penetrate and develop strategic relationships with customers at all senior leadership levels.
  • Coach and develop the sales team for future career progression opportunities.
  • Up to 30% Travel.
