QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in human resources management or a related field.
  • Experience with HRMS and/or HRIS software (Paycom a plus).
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Record of maintaining confidentiality, highly trustworthy and welcoming.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills (verbal and written) with all levels of management.
  • Excellent technical skills and abilities, proficient in MS Office products.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field a plus.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island is seeking an innovative, proactive, and collaborative professional to supporting talent acquisition, staff development, and team engagement for the organization. We are seeking a team member who can work with sensitivity, confidentiality, and thoughtfulness in prioritizing the well-being and success of our staff, managers, and the organization.
Compensation:
Status: Full-Time Exempt Position
Reports to: Chief Strategy Officer
Compensation: $60,000-70,000/year, plus a generous benefit package and other perks

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES

  • Serve as a human resources subject matter expert within the organization and across all administrative and program areas.
  • Actively foster a fair, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
  • Lead and support implementation of day-to-day people-related operations including staffing/recruitment, hiring, terminations and performance management.
  • Manage employee lifecycle milestones and processes, including, but not limited to, onboarding, review process, and offboarding.
  • Develop relevant professional development resources and opportunities, as well as oversee the organizations engagement with LinkedIn Learning.
  • Advise and consult supervisors on day-to-day issues concerning employees, employment programs, and issues/actions that affect the achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Serve as point person in employee relations matters: coaching managers in providing feedback, conflict management, handling investigations in an unbiased, professional manner.
  • Supervise Payroll Specialist and support their oversight of payroll and benefits.
