Description:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or HR industry certifications.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Proven history of successfully managing a department with emphasis on team member relations.
  • Strong critical thinking, conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills.
  • Able to present and communicate to large groups of people.
  • Must be flexible and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and team members on the interpretation of policies, procedures.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Action and solutions oriented.
  • Able to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with professional demeanor.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • Exemplify professional standards of discretion and uphold confidentiality.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual business tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Able to support and lead in a diverse and inclusive work environment.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in private sector education or similarly regulated environment.

  • Anticipated starting salary of $130,000; pay rate negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

THE DIRECTOR OF PEOPLE OPERATIONS (“DIRECTOR”) IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MANAGING A PEOPLE OPERATIONS TEAM AND PROVIDING HR SUPPORT TO ASSIGNED DEPARTMENTS. THE DIRECTOR OVERSEES AND SUPPORTS THE CREATION AND CLARIFICATION OF POLICIES, PROCESSES, AND PEOPLE STRATEGIES THAT PROMOTE AN ENGAGED WORKFORCE. THE DIRECTOR ACTS AS A PARTNER, ALIGNING INSTITUTIONAL OBJECTIVES WITH TEAM MEMBERS AND MANAGEMENT IN DESIGNATED UNITS. THE DIRECTOR SERVES AS A CONSULTANT TO LEADERSHIP ON HUMAN RESOURCES RELATED ISSUES. ASSESSES AND ANTICIPATES HR-RELATED NEEDS, COMMUNICATING NEEDS PROACTIVELY WITH THEIR HR TEAM AND DEPARTMENTS. MAINTAINS AN EFFECTIVE LEVEL OF INSTITUTIONAL LITERACY ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTS’ MID-RANGE PLANS, ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN, AND CULTURE. TRAINS THEIR TEAM TO DO THE SAME. THE DIRECTOR WILL HELP TO STRATEGIZE ACROSS THE ORGANIZATION ON PEOPLE AND CULTURE-RELATED INITIATIVES.
