Description:
The role
The Queensland Government is proud of the progress it is making to support the rights of women and girls. This includes the Queensland Women and Girls’ Health Strategy
released in March 2024, which will invest almost $250 million in new funding over five years to drive system reform, address system inequities and enable our women and girls to fully participate in social, cultural and economic activities.
This role is part of a broader departmental team to support the implementation and evaluation of the Queensland Women and Girls’ Health Strategy.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to service quality standards and health and safety protocols, thereby guaranteeing the delivery of top-tier healthcare services. Your leadership will extend to providing strategic guidance and expert advice to senior executives, including the Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services, as well as overseeing projects aimed at improving healthcare access and quality. Your responsibilities will encompass resolving complex issues, driving improvements in timely service access, and fostering partnerships with key clinical groups to develop and spread innovative service delivery models across public hospitals in Queensland.
Moreover, as a steward of policy implementation and financial management, you will manage budgetary responsibilities in accordance with relevant delegations while ensuring effective communication, training, and workforce management practices to instil a culture of continuous improvement. Through effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration both internally and externally, you will ensure alignment with government directives and corporate strategic intent, thereby contributing to the overarching goal of advancing healthcare outcomes across the region. Additionally, you will represent senior leadership as needed, further cementing your role as a key figure in driving clinical excellence and healthcare improvement within Queensland Health.
The successful person
Success in this position necessitates a proven record of accomplishment of providing sophisticated and intricate advice and support to executive leadership, coupled with adept management and supervisory capabilities to lead project teams effectively.
Additionally, a profound understanding of Hospital and Health Services operations at a strategic level is essential, along with the capacity to manage stakeholder engagement activities adeptly and respond promptly to service expectations.
