Primary Responsibilities
- IC and Risk-related Activities
- Conduct credit analysis and underwriting of real estate lending opportunities including identification and assessment of risks, financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Prepare detailed investment committee papers and participate in presentation of transactions to Investment Committee
- Assist in the annual Portfolio Review and Collateral Valuation process, with particular focus on PD and LGD ratings
- Settlement-related Activities
- Work with legal counsel and originators to negotiate term sheets, loan agreements, intercreditor agreements and related legal documentation
- Support loan closing process by assisting with conditions precedent, document execution, KYC, account set up, etc
- Asset Management Activities
- Loan monitoring to ensure covenant compliance and early identification of risk issues on existing loan book. Investigate, analyse and provide recommendations to remedy
- Attend PCGs, review QS reports and conduct inspections of security properties.
- Maintain good and orderly files and records and integrity of data in MIS platforms
- Assist in preparing internal and external reporting and materials for fund raising initiatives
Qualifications & Skills
- 10+ years of proven experience in commercial real estate lending; screening, structuring, closing and managing commercial real estate loans
- Bachelor’s degree required with Real Estate, Business or Finance major preferred
- Team player that collaborates with others to achieve business outcomes
- Advanced quantitative abilities and solutions focused mindset; anticipates questions and issues, breaks down complexity and finds alternative solutions
- Client service focus and a high standard of professionalism; develops strong and effective relationships with borrowers and their representatives
- Ability to take ownership, prioritize, multi-task and meet tight timelines
