Description:

Quanterra Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Surveying Director on behalf of our client. The ideal candidate should be an RICS qualified professional with a degree in Building Surveying or related field. The primary focus of this role will be to lead and oversee various aspects of building surveying such as but not limited to technical due diligence, reinstatement valuations, dilapidations projects, providing expert guidance and delivering exceptional results to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Due Diligence: Lead and manage technical due diligence projects for property acquisitions, disposals, and investment transactions. Conduct thorough assessments of building condition, defects, and risks, providing detailed reports and recommendations to clients.
  • Reinstatement Valuations: Oversee and conduct reinstatement valuations for insurance purposes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Evaluate property reinstatement costs accurately and efficiently, taking into account factors such as building materials, construction methods, and market trends.
  • Dilapidations: Manage dilapidations projects, including inspections, negotiations, and resolution of disputes between landlords and tenants regarding property condition and lease obligations. Provide expert advice on dilapidations assessments, schedules of condition, and settlement agreements.
  • Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific requirements and providing tailored solutions to meet their needs. Act as a trusted advisor, offering expert guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities for business growth and expansion within the building surveying sector, proactively seeking new clients and projects. Participate in business development activities, including client meetings, presentations, and proposal preparation.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the building surveying team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Mentor and develop junior staff members, supporting their professional growth and development within the organization.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of surveying reports and deliverables, reviewing work conducted by team members and implementing best practices to uphold the highest standards of service delivery.
  • Industry Engagement: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to building surveying and technical due diligence. Actively participate in professional forums, conferences, and networking events to enhance knowledge and visibility within the industry.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited international institution.
  • MRICS qualification (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is essential.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in building surveying, with a focus on technical due diligence, reinstatement valuations, and dilapidations.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.
  • Strong technical expertise in building construction, defects diagnosis, and condition assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools used in building surveying and valuation processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience in managing and mentoring a team of surveying professionals.
