About You
You have a proven track record in leading test teams on products consisting of HW and SW components in process and quality intensive applications like automotive or healthcare. You should be a recognised technical and people leader in your current organisation. You stay up to date with the latest methodologies and approaches in software and system testing. You have ability to get down in the detail and guide your team on technical decisions and help with their scoping and planning. But you can also zoom out and plot a long-term vision and strategy for your team that aligns with the broader organizational and business goals. You have experience driving change at an organisation-level. You understand the value of a systematic development and verification process and are very knowledgeable on software and system engineering processes and tools. You know that innovation is a team sport and have proven yourself to be a strong team player.
The Role

ADI is seeking a Director of System Verification and Validation to lead a growing team focused on testing of BMS system and SW products. The BMS business unit is building system products comprising of hardware and software to create more value for our customer. As the complexity grows and the mix of hardware and software elements increases the need for comprehensive system-level verification and validation becomes paramount.

  • Lead, manage and inspire a team of system and software test engineers.
  • Create a vision for the team that is aligned to ADI and BMS long term goals and set out and communicate a strategic plan towards that vision.
  • Report to executive leadership on system testing strategy and on a per-project basis on coverage, compliance, and testing KPIs
  • Establish strong relationships with other functional leads like Software, Quality and Program Management to ensure alignment on scope, process, and responsibilities to meet customer expectations.
  • Within the Systems team collaborate and align with the system architecture and modelling on process, requirements traceability, requirements quality, project planning and test strategies.
  • Manage team budgets, career development and performance reviews.
  • Recruit and develop the best talent.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the products being tested and instil this need in the team.
  • Develop a set of consistent KPIs that the team can use to report status and also quantify the value the team is bringing to product quality
  • Assess and leverage virtualised testing approaches to enable a “shift left” in test coverage.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of our customers development and testing process and supplier expectations, and set clear responsibility boundaries between ADI and the customer.
  • Define long-term validation roadmap of capabilities, flows and methodologies to continuously improve productivity.
  • Lay a clear direction on automated test infrastructure that maximises test coverage and reduces test time.
  • Keep up to date with the latest advances in system and software testing, industry trends and customer architectures and provide thought leadership on these topics both internally and externally.

Experience and Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in systems or software validation and verification for embedded systems product. At least 5+ in a managerial role
  • Proven experience in building and scaling engineering teams with strong leadership skills
  • Track record in bringing complex software/system products to market
  • Experience in ASPICE process flow and work products - right side of the V-Model.
  • ISTQB Advanced Certified level
  • Customer facing experience highly desired.
  • Experience in IC-level hardware test an advantage.
  • Experience in development and testing of functionally safe products an advantage.
  • Experience in development and testing of algorithmic and AI/ML software products an advantage.
  • Experience in development and testing of cybersecurity enabled software and hardware products an advantage.
  • Experience in developing products in the automotive industry an advantage.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
  • Good knowledge and experience in system engineering and product life cycle management
  • Good knowledge and experience in requirements management and issue tracking tools like JAMA and JIRA
