  • 12-month fixed term, full time opportunity to work within Technology Solutions and Data Security.
  • STS Grade 7: $177,488 - $241,387 plus superannuation.
    The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Director, Technology Architecture and Strategy to provide a critical role within Technology Solutions and Data Security.
    About the Business Unit
    The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.
    Technology Solutions and Data Security explores and employs technology to enable the department’s business function via the use of modern, appropriate platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and services including critical applications, networks, telecommunication, call centres, hosting, intranet/internet sites; delivers business and corporate funded project; and overseas the delivering of services provided by technology service providers such as Cenitex.
    About the Role
    The Director, Technology Architecture and Strategy has full accountability for development and implementation of Technology Architecture including roadmaps, guardrails, policies aligned with organisational priorities.
    The role is accountable for line management responsibilities of workloads, skills, priorities, stakeholder management, staff development and career paths, methodologies, process improvement and service delivery.
    The role responsibility includes driving significant change and implementation of best practice across the department.

Responsibilities:

SOME OF YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Lead and manage teams responsible for enterprise architecture, including provision of centre of excellence for key disciplines and services.
  • Provide authoritative advice and leadership in ICT strategy development and operations, and function as a thought leader to the CTO.
  • Drive the development and implementation of key enterprise architecture plans and champion innovation through collaboration.
  • Develop, maintain and interpret policies, standards and processes that effect the provision of services within the department, ensuring the team’s development and support activities continue to deliver on business requirements.
  • Employ considered resource management, through forecasting and budget monitoring and contribute to operational reporting for the CTO.
  • Manage complex issues confidently with stakeholders using expert analysis to address issues and risk, creating shared solutions to advance the stakeholder business consistent with organisational priorities.

    About you

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Demonstrated experience in a medium to large ICT department or organisation, leading architecture and strategy groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the delivery of enterprise architecture plans and guardrails, aligning to organisational priorities, with an awareness of the risks and opportunities related to emerging technologies and business models.
  • Significant experience in a range of information systems, technology products and services, including large scale digital, application and ICT services projects.
  • Proven understanding of development practises, relevant architecture, systems analysis and design knowledge as well as consideration of new or emerging technologies and their potential value to the organisation.
    Qualifications
    Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline is highly desirable.
