Job Title: Director, Total Rewards & HR Operations

Salary Band: 8 ($96,000 - $144,000 CAD)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree, coupled with either HR concentration or certificate; minimum of 10 years HR experience in a large multi-level organization; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • CHRL designation preferred.
  • Demonstrated focus and experience and/ or expertise overseeing the compensation function.
  • Demonstrated experience in a management/ supervisory role.
  • A respected leader: passionate about leading teams and engaging and developing individuals to reach their goals and potential.
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service. Ability to effectively deal with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Thrives in a collaborative and cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the total rewards portfolio:
  • Lead the total rewards portfolio at CCS, including extended benefits, pension, compensation and wellness and ability management, including the development of resources to support leaders.
  • Maintain and further develop the total rewards strategy to ensure we have a competitive total rewards package
  • Develop and maintain the compensation philosophy, which allows for internal equity & fairness, proper salary progression, job evaluations, and rewards performance.
  • Implement action items that resulted from the total rewards review.
  • Oversee performance management processes across CCS and introduce improvements.
  • Oversee and communicate year end processes including annual performance reviews, goal setting, merit increases, promotions and salary adjustments as applicable.
  • Evaluate and maintain the current job evaluation process.
  • Oversee disability management practices, including partnering with vendors to identify trends, develop prevention strategies, implement return to work programs, including the re-development of accommodation process and resources.Maintain all HR processes related to total rewards, systems and policies.


    • Support HR Systems & Overall Operations:

    • In partnership with the Manager, Systems and Total Rewards, maintain the HRIS systems and processes.
    • Partner with the communications team and other HR Directors to ensure effective change management practices are leveraged.
    • Evaluate and evolve HR programs and benefits based on priorities identified from HR analytics. Complete ongoing policy reviews as it pertains to organizational and legislative changes; identify policy gaps and develop policies to address these.
    • Oversee all necessary compliance work, including provincial requirements (AODA, QC Pay Equity reporting, Respectful workplace etc.) and make changes to policies & processes as needed.
    • Partner with Director, Organizational Effectiveness to ensure required compliance training takes place (accessibility, respectful workplace ), Maintain the Health and Safety portfolio in partnership with the Director of Facilities, ensuring ongoing compliance of provincial work-safe requirements and ensuring a regular review of the JH&S committees, training requirements, and safety precautions in office.
    • In partnership with the Director, HR Business Partners, ensure all HR processes and mandates are effectively supported by the HRBPs with their respective clients.
    • In partnership with VP, People Culture, and Inclusion, lead departmental planning and budgeting process.Partner with the DIBE, Lead in supporting the CCS DIBE Roadmap.
